One of the toughest decisions when planning your Asian wedding is whether to stick to traditional Asian style or add your own unique modern twist to the ceremony. Often parents and older relatives want you to stick to traditional Asian methods which bring good luck and a positive atmosphere going into married life. But you are also put under pressure by your bridal party to deliver a wedding which is going to be fun and enjoyable. The one thing to remember is to make sure you’re happy with what is going on. It is your special day and you can’t please everyone so concentrate on yourself and the groom. If you’re thinking about adding a modern twist to your Asian wedding, then why not consider your bridal gown, hair and makeup. The traditional colour for an Asian bride is red but why not choose an alternative colour whilst still respecting traditions? You can still have red as part of your outfit but make it the secondary colour or trim on your Bridal Lehenga.
In terms of your hair and makeup, why not tell your makeup artist to go for an alternative look. Many brides choose similar styles of makeup but you could ask your makeup artist for a unique modern look. Tone the blusher and colours down for a subtle look. Asian brides are supposed to have a certain look in terms of hair and makeup but you could make this a thing of the past. Other ways in which you could make your wedding unique is changes to the party. Rather then serving a traditional Asian meal, how about making the food fun with a modern twist to the Asian food?
Another way to make your party unique is the music. Why stick to only traditional bhangra music if you also like other music, mix it up a little! Choose music that you love and actually want to dance to and respect guest wishes at the same time. I bet your bridal party would enjoy that touch and mix. Be creative in all aspects of your wedding.
